Rear landing gear in titanium (Ti Gr5)-supports on the stern in stainless steel (AISI 304) wheels in alloy steel-differentiated brakes with brake drums-lifting system by tackle with pulley and clam cleats –landing gear deployed by gravity manually locked via pulley and automatic clam cleat -shock absorbing by torsion bar in titanium.

Front landing gear in stainless steel (AISI304)-double pivoting wheel - PVC rims-lifting system with pulley and automatic clam cleats -deployed by gravity-manual blockage with automatic clam cleat -shock absorbing performed by the bow tubular of the inflatable boat and from the V shaped support padded with neoprene and Vulcollan rubber.

Functioning - The landing gear is retracted by a system of pulleys and automatic clam cleats of nautical derivation that is simple and easy to inspect-the materials used are the same found on racing sailing boats(Ronstar pulleys-ropes in Spectra-Spin lock clam cleats).The strength required to retract the landing gear is limited thanks to the reduction provided by the pulleys, the system if therefore safe due to it’s simplicity.

The landing gear is deployed by gravity(a malfunction is therefore impossible).

The angle of the rear and front landing gear once deployed is enough to keep them in position on landing. For added safety there is a simple blocking system with Spectra ropes and Spinlock automatic clam cleats.

Land controls are via differentiated brakes on the rear wheels connected to the rudder pedal. The front wheel is free to pivot at low speed it is self centering at high speeds, this has avoided the need of a complicated system of connections between the front wheel and the rudder pedal.

Uses - The aim of the Am-fib is to ad to the well know qualities of the fib(easy to use and transport, very sea worthy thanks to the rigid hull inflatable boat)the possibility of operating also from normal airstrips.

The easy and safe landing gear system allows to take of from water and land on lad and vice versa with ease expanding the possibilities of the aircraft.

Weights and Dimensions - The Am-Fib weights exactly 28 kg more than the normal Fib the payload is subsequently reduced of 28kg.
